Project Cargo

We have a comprehensive network of international agents, a thorough understanding of abnormal load vehicle types, and offer a wide scope of shipping services for out-of-gauge cargo. This is demonstrated by our experience in organizing, planning, and preparing for project cargo.

Abnormal Loads

Johnson Partners specialise in abnormal loads and out-of-gauge cargo and we are highly experienced in moving cargo that is too awkward for most carriers.

This knowledge helps us to pre-empt many potential issues that often arise without adequate planning, which is essential for Project Cargo. We can advise on what vehicles are required, as well as loading/off-loading requirements.

Roadfreight

Our roadfreight services cover domestic UK transport as well as European movements on full load artic trailers, rigid express vans or as groupage / part load shipments.

We can move your cargo by road, whether for a local delivery in the UK or to a destination in the far reaches of Europe.

We offer all types of vehicles such as Euroliners, Megatrailers, Refrigerated vehicles, Flat bed trailers, Semi low loaders, Low loaders and Hiabs.

Seafreight

We offer FCL and LCL shipments on an import or export basis worldwide and can even use our extensive network of international agents to deliver to door.

For larger seafreight consignments we can offer conventional cargo, flat rack, open top containers and charter ships.

We can assist with customs clearance and documentation to advise on what paperwork may be needed.

Airfreight

Airfreight services range from our discounted courier service for small packages or regular airfreight consignments, up to freighter movements for cargo too large for normal passenger flights.

With our international network of agents, we can provide door-to-door collection and delivery if required.

If your cargo is due to arrive at an awkward time, we can make prior arrangements to avoid costly airline storage charges.

Hazardous Cargo

We can offer a full door to door service for hazardous cargo.

This can include assistance with filling out DGN certificates and advising on the correct procedure for shipping dangerous goods.

Whether you require hazardous goods to be transported under ADR, ADN, IMDG or IATA standards, or just hazardous packing, we can help you all the way.

Warehousing

We offer all types of storage, including bonded warehousing.

We can store cargo long-term, if you have an upcoming project or have more stock than you currently need, or short term if you are shipping internationally and want to avoid expensive shipping line or airline storage costs.

Picking and Packing services

We offer a picking and packing service which can be useful if you are an importer of retails goods and need someone to receive the cargo, pick orders, pack and distribute directly to your customers.

We can also receive and store items from various sources and consolidate the cargo into one simple shipment.

Container Loading/Off-loading

We can arrange for cargo to be collected on a standard trailer and then loaded into standard shipping containers or loading by crane into open top containers. This can include packing into crates or onto skids or pallets.

We can arrange for out-of-gauge cargo to be loaded onto flat-racks to shipping line specification, avoiding the pain of being rejected for vessels and the subsequent expense and inconvenience of repacking at the port.

We can also unload containers and deliver on a more suitable vehicle, if your premises do not have adequate facilities for offloading shipping containers.

Freight Insurance

We understand that freight insurance can be quite complex and often misunderstood. Our experienced operational staff can provide advice on exactly what is and isn't covered under various scenarios.

We can offer one-off 'all risks' freight insurance if you require coverage above and beyond our standard limited liability insurance, based on BIFA 2017 terms and conditions.

Cranes

We can lift all types of cargo, whether you need a straightforward lift on a hiab or a full contract lift with a crane for heavier, high value items.

Our lifts have ranged from hot tubs in residential areas to extremely heavy engines and large generators for the power industry.

Customs Clearance

We can offer customs declarations for imports and exports across the world.

Our customs team can ensure cargo can be cleared in-house to and from the EU.

Car Shipping

We can transport your car across the world, utilising all types of shipping services depending on your needs.

Whether you want your car packed professionally into a standard shipping container, or prefer to send on a roll-on, roll-off (RoRo) service we can ensure your car is shipped by the most suitable form of transportation.

We can collect the car from you, or arrange for a specialist car collection service to take your car to the port.
